At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi, Vayve Mobility, a new original equipment manufacturer (OEM), will introduce Eva, a small electric vehicle that runs on solar power. It is scheduled between January 17 and 22, 2025.
The upgraded model of the car seeks to offer a useful and environmentally responsible option for urban travel, following its debut at Auto Expo 2023, where Eva attracted a lot of attention. Eva has a small form that is appropriate for city use and was created to answer common urban issues like traffic congestion, parking shortages, and rising fuel costs.
Eva can go up to 3,000 kilometers a year thanks to its solar charging capability, and it has a 250-kilometer range on a single charge. Fast charging is made possible by its high-voltage drivetrain, which adds 50 kilometers of range in just five minutes. The vehicle has a top speed of 70 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in five seconds. The driving experience is further enhanced by improved driver visibility and a variety of smart connectivity capabilities, including as over-the-air updates, smartphone integration, car diagnostics, and remote monitoring.
The operational cost of Eva is significantly lower than conventional petrol cars. While petrol vehicles incur an average fuel cost of ₹5 per kilometer, Eva’s cost is approximately ₹0.5 per kilometer due to its lightweight design and efficient engineering. This affordability makes it a viable option for urban households.
The automobile’s design fits nicely with India’s urban commuting habits, where car occupancy rates are generally low and daily travel distances are less than 35 kilometers. By providing a car that is practical and suited for daily usage, Vayve Mobility hopes to close gaps in the small car market.
