The first public EV charging station has been established in Ghaziabad, a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, by the Japanese EV charging solutions provider Terra Charge. There are 71 chargers on the new website. The National Capital Region (NCR), which includes Delhi and other districts from neighboring states, includes Ghaziabad. On the Delhi-Meerut Highway, Terra Charge has placed the new EV charging station carefully.
Seventy-two EVs can charge at the same time with the new EV charging hub. But it appears that Terra Charge intended it mainly to accommodate electric two- and three-wheelers. A modest 3.3 kW of alternating electricity is supplied by 70 chargers. A 60 kW DC charger for electric vehicles with a CCS2 charging connector makes up the remaining unit.
Terra Charge made an investment in its new EV charging station in Ghaziabad of 50,000,000 rupees, or around 545,000 euros. CEO of Terra Charge India Akihito Ueda remarked at the hub’s opening, “Our new hub in Ghaziabad is one of the largest public EV charging stations in India.” “In order to meet the charging requirements of the region and facilitate widespread adoption, we have opted to maintain our charging hub accessible to both public and commercial fleets.”
Terra Charge runs 50 EV charging stations with more than 400 charge ports throughout India, including the recently opened Ghaziabad site. In order to grow its operations in India, the corporation is looking into joint ventures.
