Simple Energy has announced the release of the Dot One, a new electric scooter, on December 15. The business claims that the Dot One will be priced under Rs 1 lakh, putting it in direct competition with the Ola S1 X.
This will basically be the one e-scooter without the detachable battery pack, which has an IDC range of 160 km and a battery capacity of 3.7kWh. The Dot One might feature a motor that is little less potent than the One’s unit, which is rated for a claimed 8.5kW and 72Nm, although output numbers remain unknown.
Not too much is known about the Simple Dot One, but it is unlikely to differ too much visually compared to the One. As per the company, it will have ‘over 30 litres’ of storage, although the exact figure hasn’t been mentioned.
Simple says that the Dot One will employ a touchscreen TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity and this could be the same unit as the One, as both scooters share the same platform as per the company.
At the claimed sub-Rs 1 lakh price, the Dot One doesn’t have many rivals purely in terms of price, except for the Ola S1 X.
In its literature, Simple has used both launch and debut, which leaves things a little unclear. Currently, Simple has delivered just 40 One electric scooters pan-India since its launch in May 2023.
