More than 280 Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Trucks (WTs) will be added to the service fleet of Southern California Edison (SCE), one of the biggest electric utilities in the US. This initiative demonstrates SCE’s dedication to lowering greenhouse gas emissions and operating expenses while obtaining a fleet of light-duty vehicles that are entirely electric.
SCE’s objectives are ideally aligned with the Silverado EV WT, which is built as a strong and dependable all-electric truck. The Silverado EV WT is renowned for its dependability and zero-emission performance, enabling it to tackle hard tasks without the need for gasoline.
Todd Carlson, Southern California Edison’s Principal Manager of Fleet, stated, “The deployment is a critical step in SCE’s commitment to electrify our fleet and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.” At SCE, we’re dedicated to setting the standard for California’s transition to renewable energy. We can include high-performing electric vehicles while lowering greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing air quality in Southern California by collaborating with partners like Chevrolet.
SCE’s decision to employ these EV trucks is part of a larger plan to promote renewable energy options and serve as a model for utilities across the country.
GM Envolve Vice President Sandor Piszar expressed his excitement about the collaboration. “As part of their fleet transformation, we are thrilled to work with forward-thinking clients like Southern California Edison to achieve their electrification objectives with the Chevrolet Silverado EV WT. The Silverado EV WT combines the advantages and low cost of ownership of electric power with the performance and dependability that commercial customers require.
With this deployment, SCE contributes to California’s clean energy future while maintaining its position as a leader in incorporating sustainable practices into its operations.
