With an eye toward the commuter market, Revolt Motors has announced the release of the Revolt RV1, a new electric motorcycle. The RV1 joins a sizable market, with motorcycles accounting for 70% of all two-wheelers sold in India and the commuter category accounting for over 80 lakh units yearly.
There are four color options for the RV1 and its premium counterpart, the RV1+. The RV1’s introductory price is ₹84,990, while the RV1+’s is ₹99,990. With cheaper ownership costs than petrol motorcycles in the same class, these models seek to increase the accessibility of electric riding. The RV400 and RV400 BRZ are two more models in Revolt Motors’ current lineup that the RV1 enhances.
Compared to other commuter motorcycles, which typically have a 150 kg cargo capacity, the RV1 has a 250 kg capability. It has dual disc brakes for increased safety, bigger tires for improved stability, and a mid-motor and chain drive system for smooth acceleration. Additionally, the motorcycle has a reverse mode, a first for its kind, and several speed settings.
Comfort features include a long seat and a frame designed for multiple passengers, with an advanced suspension system for a smoother ride. Additionally, Revolt Motors has upgraded its RV400 model, which now features a faster charger, a new reverse mode, an enhanced digital display, improved seat comfort, and Bluetooth connectivity.
