PURE EV, the electric two-wheeler (2W) OEM in India, has launched a strategic joint venture with Pragmatic Design Solutions Ltd (PDSL), an engineering business located in the UK.
The partnership seeks to create a high-performance electric 2W by utilising solid-state battery technology, with a common goal of revolutionising electric mobility and increasing affordability. The JV will drive innovation in the EV industry and has its headquarters in the Coventry University Technology Park in the UK, which is recognised as the world’s premier automotive hub.
The proposed device is expected to have a 250-kilometer range, a peak speed of more than 100 km/h, and an AI-powered powertrain architecture with quick on-board charging and easy troubleshooting.
Rohit Vadera, CEO of PURE EV, expressed enthusiasm about venturing into the premium scooter segment, stating, “PURE EV has continuously pushed the boundaries of electric mobility, and this collaboration with PDSL UK is poised to unlock new opportunities. We aim to develop a premium product that exceeds customer expectations both in India and select international markets.”
Steve Simplay, Director of MSME at PDSL, emphasized, “PDSL’s expertise in electrification engineering and supply chain capabilities, which will be instrumental in developing solid-state batteries for the joint venture.”
Mr. Ned Jolic, Senior Manager at PDSL UK, echoed the sentiment, stating, “This partnership signifies a game-changing collaboration to revolutionize electric mobility. By combining PURE EV’s innovative design with PDSL UK’s engineering excellence, we aim to redefine performance and sustainability in the EV sector.”
The joint venture has consequences for the Indian and international markets and is a major step towards high-performance, reasonably priced electric transportation. With intentions to launch in early 2025, the ground-breaking device is now under development.
PURE EV and PDSL’s strategic partnership promise to revolutionise electric mobility ecosystem and influence global transportation in the years to come.
