Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) has announced to begin a trial run of a prototype electric bus model in the city soon as it has received a prototype.
Jammu and Srinagar will receive 200 electric buses under the smart city project.
Tata Motors has been entrusted with the responsibility of delivering, managing, and maintaining a fleet of 200 electric buses in both Jammu and Srinagar.
Simultaneously, Chalo Mobility will be providing cutting-edge consumer technology solutions, including electronic ticket issuing machines (ETIMs), an Automated Fare Collection System (AFCS), a user-friendly mobile app with mobile tickets and passes platform, smart cards platform, and cloud-based hosting.
A JSCL official said that trials will start after it receives a prototype model of an electric bus.
The operation will begin after successful trials.
The electric buses come with cutting-edge features panic buttons, CCTV, location systems, and other security-related features.
Also, passengers will get real-time updates on the buses through mobile applications.
