Italy automaker giant, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL) has been lauded by Switch Delhi EV Campaign as the OEM with the highest number of electric three-wheeler sales in the L5 category.
Piaggio has delivered over 1100 electric three-wheelers for the Switch Delhi EV campaign.
The Government of Delhi has appreciated the Switch Delhi EV Campaign to inform, encourage and motivate the people of Delhi to switch from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles.
This award is a testimony of Piaggio’s efforts in the electric three-wheeler space. Piaggio is pushing its electric vehicles in India in the cargo and passenger segment.
The Piaggio Group has been involved in electric mobility since the 1970s and has developed its R&D centers around the world.
Piaggio was awarded post the consideration of a jury panel. The jury panel included government officials, consultants and members of the Delhi EV policy steering committee.

The Delhi Electric Vehicles (EV) policy was introduced by the Government of NCT of Delhi, on August 7th 2020. The policy was put into place with a vision to make Delhi the EV capital of India.
The policy was implemented in stages following the launch and now the EV sales in 2022 are averaging about 10 percent every month in 2022, with the highest being in March 2022 at 12.5 percent.
This EV policy aims to accelerate EV adoption in Delhi and strengthen the EV ecosystem to support the government’s efforts of decarbonizing mobility in Delhi.
