The Indian government’s proactive policies, including FAME subsidies, reduced GST, and charging infrastructure expansion, are accelerating EV adoption. OPG Mobility fully supports these efforts by providing affordable, high-quality EVs and investing in sustainable manufacturing. Policies promoting localized battery production and R&D will further drive innovation and strengthen India’s EV ecosystem.
With ambitious targets like Delhi’s goal of 95% EV adoption by 2027, these initiatives will significantly reduce pollution, lower fuel dependency, and boost local manufacturing. Consumers benefit from lower running costs, government incentives, and improved charging networks, making EVs a smarter economic choice. For manufacturers, this push fosters innovation, creates jobs, and positions India as a global EV hub.
Collaboration between the government, industry and consumers is essential for building a cost-effective, self-reliant, and sustainable mobility future. OPG Mobility remains committed to driving this transformation, ensuring that clean and accessible mobility solutions become a reality for all.
6. What are OPG Mobility’s growth and expansion plans, both in terms of product portfolio and market presence?
At OPG Mobility, our vision is to lead India’s shift towards electric mobility by making EVs more affordable, dependable, and sustainable. Our 2025 expansion strategy is built around three priorities: building our product portfolio, growing our distribution network, and improving customer service. Our focus is to offer efficient and durable mobility solutions that cater to the growing demand for electric Two-Wheelers, Three-Wheelers and Energy solutions, ensuring accessibility for everyone.
In the two-wheeler space, we recently launched the Ferrato DEFY 22 to address the increasing demand for high-performance and functional electric scooters. We have an ambitious roadmap of launching new electric scooters and motorcycles this year. Our goal is to continually innovate and adapt to the evolving needs of the Indian market while contributing to the broader landscape of sustainable transportation.
Aside from two-wheelers, we see the massive potential in electric three-wheelers, especially in commercial applications. We are strongly pursuing the enlargement of our 3W business, which will be instrumental in the uptake of eco-friendly last-mile mobility.
On the market expansion front, our immediate priority is to solidify our presence in the South regions, where EV adoption is growing albeit with infrastructure issues. Besides, we are also expanding to Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities so that customers in small-town areas are not deprived of our EV solutions and after-sales services. To support this expansion, we are increasing 600+ approved service partners in India. With our 4 Baddi plant, which has the capacity to manufacture 300,000 units every year, we are well-equipped to scale cost-effectively and address the growing demand.
7. How do you plan to leverage your expertise in battery technology to support India’s EV transition?
At OPG Mobility, we are dedicated to driving India towards electric mobility by capitalizing on our deep expertise of lithium-ion battery technology.
