Electric mobility manufacturer, One Electric has introduced its second electric two-wheeler, KRIDN XR in India.
It is also designed, manufactured, and built in India.
Gaurav Uppal (CEO, of One Electric) said, “We are proud of launching our take on the Perfect Delivery Vehicle’ in India. Kridn XR is a crossover between a scooter and a motorcycle. It was developed with the data input from thousands of delivery vehicles that were involved in last-mile operations, which helped to determine product requirements. Each feature is essential for the delivery driver, who often works long hours and in difficult conditions every day. These features help the rider to be more efficient and safer, whether it’s big wheels that can handle potholes, a large seat to transport loads, plenty of space to store bags, or heavy-duty suspension.”
One Electric’s COO Abhijeet Shah says, “A heavy-duty chassis, 55 kmph top speed and 100 km range per charged are essential requirements for the last mile market. Hub motors with 10- or 12-inches wheels are the most economical and provide a good range. However, they do not deliver torque when carrying heavy loads, especially during flyovers. They also struggle to handle a pillion rider when climbing steeper gradients. After multiple drive train evaluations, we decided to go with a mid-drive motor that was suitable while still allowing for battery swapping.”
KRIDN XR will be launched by the company in June. They plan to show it off to last-mile delivery companies and give demos to riders. Deliveries are scheduled for July 2023.
Gaurav Uppal comments on the potential export market. “We focus products on multiple markets across the globe. KRIDN XR is an excellent fit for South East Asian markets such as Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. Some countries allow speeds of 70-80 kmph. To meet these diverse requirements, we have made our systems and designs modular.”
One Electric’s KRIDN motorcycle model is very popular in many African countries. A new model is expected to be available soon.
One Electric has multiple products on multiple continents and aims to be a global leader in Electric Two-wheeler Market by 2025.
