Tata Motors had remodeled the standard version of the Nexon EV with the launch of the Nexon EV MAX and has now revamped it as Nexon EV Prime.
It is now packed with new features like multi-mode regeneration, cruise control, smartwatch connectivity, indirect tyre pressure monitoring system (iTPMS), automatic brake lamp activation upon regen engagement and a charging timeout of 110 seconds.
Commenting on the occasion Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, “The Nexon EV has captured the imagination of the entire nation and has consistently led the way in the electric vehicle segment since its launch. It is the default choice for EV intenders with a market share of over 65%. With the Nexon EV Prime we expect to further strengthen our strategy of keeping our product offerings New Forever. Further with this software update to current owners, we are setting new benchmark of what customers can expect as part of Tata EV ownership experience.”
The Nexon EV Prime starts from ₹ 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The most interesting fact here is that Tata Motors is showcasing its electric car wizardry by providing all these features to existing Tata Nexon EV owners with a software update.
All existing Tata Nexon EV SUVs will now be turned into Tata Nexon EV Prime SUVs with a software update, that too free of charge.
Well, Tata Motors claims this is the first of its kind update to any EV in India. This Nexon EV Prime update will be carried out from 25th July onwards through Tata Motors authorized service centers free of charge.
Tata Motors also stated that the first software update is free of charge but the updates following this will be chargeable and if in future existing customers would want to avail the benefits of these updates then they will have to pay for them.
