The Windsor EV was introduced only a month ago, and buyers are already receiving their orders in time for Dussehra. This electric crossover is priced between roughly Rs 13.50 lakh and Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Notably, Battery as a Service, a novel option from MG Motor, enables buyers to reduce the initial purchase price to roughly Rs 10 lakh. However, this comes with an extra battery rental charge of Rs 3.5 per kilometer.
In just one day after its release, the Windsor EV—which combines the roominess of an SUV with the comforts of a sedan—saw over 15,000 reservations; it was positioned to rival well-known cars like the Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Motors‘ Nexon EV. The Windsor EV is available in three different trim levels: Essence, Exclusive, and Excite.
MG Motor is in the lead in battery rental options, making EVs more accessible. With a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh and a battery cost of Rs 2.5 per kilometer, the Comet EV—hailed as India’s most cheap electric car—compares favorably. The Windsor EV itself has a stylish look, with 18-inch alloy wheels optimized for aerodynamics and associated LED lights.
Pearl White, Clay Beige, Turquoise Green, and Starburst Black are the four eye-catching hues offered for the Windsor EV, which has the MG emblem clearly displayed below a sleek LED DRL strip and a handy charging connector on the front left fender. With its sleek flat-bottom steering wheel and black leatherette seats, the interior of the cabin is designed to provide an opulent and technologically advanced experience.
