On September 11, MG Motor India’s newest electric vehicle, the Windsor, will go on sale in the nation. The Indian model is given a different name, even though it is marketed as the Cloud EV in many places, including Indonesia.
There are two battery pack options available for the Windsor EV (Wuling Cloud EV) in foreign markets: a 37.9kWh and a 50.6kWh pack, which have stated ranges of 360km and 460km, respectively. It is propelled by a 134 horsepower permanent magnet synchronous motor installed in the front axle. Which version will be made available here is still unknown.
With a length of around 4.3 meters and a wheelbase of 2,700mm, the Windsor EV is essentially a cross between a large hatchback and an MPV. Despite having an MPV-like stance and design, it will only be offered in a 5-seat version.
The Windsor EV’s interior will include a sizable floating touchscreen and minimal physical switch gears. Additionally, MG recently revealed that it would come equipped with rear AC vents, a center armrest for the rear seat, a three-person seat with separate three-point seat belts for each passenger, and imitation leather seats with stitching in the shape of a honeycomb. Up to 135 degrees can be reclined in the back seats.
The MG Windsor EV will be priced under Rs 20 lakh and positioned right below the ZS EV in the company’s EV portfolio, serving as an alternative to Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400, as well as the newly launched Tata Curvv EV.
