Luxury Carmaker Mercedes-Benz has been expecting high EV sales in 2022 as the company plans to assemble its Mercedes-Benz sedan, EQS locally in India.
The all-electric Mercedes-Benz sedan, EQS will be launched in India in the fourth quarter of 2022.
It will be locally assembled, which should help Mercedes price it competitively.
Internationally, Mercedes offers the EQS with two powertrain options: 334PS/458Nm single-motor and a 523PS/856Nm dual-motor setup. Both units come with a 107.8kWh battery pack.
The Mercedes-Benz sedan is capable of going from 0-100kmph within 6.2 seconds and has a WLTP-claimed range of up to 770km.
There’s a sportier AMG variant on offer as well, the EQS 53, which uses 658PS twin-electric motors and can go from naught to 100kmph within 3.4 seconds, before maxing out at 250kmph.
Mercedes-Benz sedan, EQS comes with two powertrains: a 334PS/458Nm single motor setup (EQS 450+) and a 523PS/856Nm dual-motor setup (EQS 580 4MATIC).
While the former is rear-wheel drive, the latter gets an all-wheel drivetrain. The 450+ is capable of going0-100kmph in 6.2 seconds, while the 500 4Matic does the job in 4.3 seconds. Both variants have a top speed of 210kmph.
Both the powertrains are backed up by a 107.8kWh battery pack and have a Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP)-claimed range of 770km.
The sedan can be juiced up from 0 to 80 percent in 35 minutes via a 110kW DC fast charger and in 11 hours via a 240V wall box charger.
