The EQS SUV from Mercedes-Benz is available in India for Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom). The German brand’s flagship electric SUV is shipped to India as a locally built kit that is completely knocked down (CKD) at its Chakan factory. The battery-powered SUV comes in a single 580 4MATIC fully equipped configuration.
Following the late-year debut of the EQS sedan, India is now the only market outside of the USA to receive two locally-assembled BEVs with the introduction of the EQS SUV. Since both vehicles are built on the same platform, the EQS SUV and sedan actually have a lot in common when it comes to appearance, features, and technical specifications.
Exterior of the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV
First off, the EQS SUV has a recognizable face owing to a gloss black panel embossed with identical designs and a sealed-off nose with the three-pointed star in the center. Two LED headlights that are joined by a DRL strip that spans the width of the bonnet flank the fake grille. Clean lines across the shoulder and flush-fitting door knobs give the side profile a minimalist appearance.
