The biggest automaker in India, Maruti Suzuki, has formally unveiled the e Vitara, an electric SUV that will premiere at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Based on Maruti’s eVX concept, which was introduced at the Auto Expo 2023, the e Vitara made its public debut in Milan, Italy, in 2024.
The e Vitara, which is anticipated to go on sale in India in March 2025, is Maruti Suzuki’s first fully electric vehicle created especially for electric powertrains. Rivals of the electric SUV include the recently released Mahindra BE 6, the Tata Curvv EV, the MG Windsor EV, and the Hyundai Creta EV, which is scheduled to go on sale in January 2025.
Officials from Maruti Suzuki had stated that the production version of the eVX will closely mirror the concept when it was first unveiled in January 2023. Though it looks bolder and more elegant than the angular concept, the production-spec e Vitara retains many of the eVX’s design features.
Soft-touch upholstery and a free-standing, single-piece panel that combines the instrument cluster and touchscreen are features of the e Vitara’s luxurious dual-tone black and tan interior. The SUV has a 360-degree camera, a rotary gear selection knob, an automatic parking brake, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and linked car technologies. At the unveiling, further information about the car’s features and technologies will be disclosed.
