The Electronic Stability Program+ (ESP) has been added to Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s (MSIL) whole passenger vehicle product line.
With the addition of the Alto K10 and S-Presso, all Maruti Suzuki vehicles now come equipped with this safety feature as standard. This modification has been made by the firm without raising the cost of these models.
This action is a reflection of Maruti Suzuki’s efforts to increase customer access to cutting-edge technology while maintaining a focus on improved safety. According to MSIL’s Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales, Partho Banerjee, this move is in line with the company’s objective of making advanced features more accessible and elevating the cars’ overall value.
The standard safety suite on Maruti Suzuki vehicles now includes ESP along with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, engine immobiliser, HEARTECT Platform, and collapsible steering column, among other features.
The Electronic Stability Program+ system works to counteract a vehicle’s skidding movements, helping to keep it on its intended path. It integrates the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), and Stability Control (SC). The system uses various sensors to measure the vehicle’s movement, processes this data through an electronic control unit, and calculates adjustments to the vehicle’s trajectory to enhance stability and control.
