Mahindra announced that Dolby Atmos would be incorporated into its Electric Origin SUV models, the BE 6 and XEV 9e. This is Dolby’s first partnership with an Indian carmaker. Through this agreement, Mahindra customers can now enjoy immersive sound through Gaana, a streaming platform that is incorporated into the infotainment system of their vehicles.
With 16 Harman Kardon speakers, the BE 6 and XEV 9e provide a top-notch audio system. Near the front seats are three-way speakers with a tweeter, mid-range driver, and woofer as part of the system. Mid-range sound is produced via the rear surround speakers, while Harman’s unique Unity Speaker design is used in the center. Dolby Atmos technology also enhances the immersive cabin audio experience, which is further improved with a subwoofer and two ceiling-mounted speaker drivers.
Dolby Atmos delivers sound with precision, depth, and clarity, creating a multi-dimensional listening experience. Users may interact more deeply and immersively with music, podcasts, and other content thanks to this technology, which turns the in-car experience into a dynamic entertainment zone.
The potential of this partnership was emphasized by Karan Grover, Senior Director of Commercial Partnerships for IMEA at Dolby Laboratories. “Mahindra’s BE 6 and XEV 9e’s Dolby Atmos redefines in-car entertainment, enhancing the journey by transforming the cabin into a space where consumers can connect more deeply with the content they love,” he said.
