The Luminous SIEP E-Bike Challenge 2024 (January 24 to 28), held by the Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIEINDIA) and sponsored by IES University, demonstrated engineering brilliance and sustainable innovation while showcasing cutting-edge technology and the future of green transportation.
The competition drew 38 teams from 16 states, demonstrating the rising national interest in electric car technology. The title sponsor, Luminous Power Technologies, a trusted name in power backup and residential solar systems, contributed to the competition’s range of ideas and solutions.
Over five days, a panel of specialists from the motorsport, automotive, and supply sectors exhaustively examined the teams and their electric bike prototypes. Criteria included engineering design, total cost, marketability, and dynamic performance. IES University’s on-track examinations evaluated real-world performance and durability using a variety of dynamic tests such as acceleration, hill climb, off-road, self-balancing, vehicle run modes, driverless parking, and durability.
Out of the 38 teams, 20 passed technical inspection and competed in the dynamic rounds, demonstrating ground-breaking engineering breakthroughs. Team Dark from Rajalakshmi Engineering College in Tamil Nadu won the overall championship, with Team Infiltrators from Parul University in Gujarat coming in second and Team Mechatrons from Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology in Tamil Nadu coming in third.
The Flag-Off and Valedictory Ceremonies were attended by industry delegates from Luminous Power Technologies, Go Sporty Electric, Jeewan Motors Pvt. Ltd., Nexcity Solutions Pvt. Ltd., JBM Group, ISIEINDIA, TATA Motors, Voltme Motors, ABZO Motors, EKA Mobility, and academicians from 30+ engineering institutes.
The essence of the Luminous SIEP E-Bike Challenge lies in the ingenuity displayed by the participating teams. The young engineers demonstrated their capabilities by designing and building electric bike prototypes that not only met stringent criteria but also pushed the boundaries of what is currently possible in the electric vehicle field.

Thank you for the informative C. W. Post on e-pedal batteries!
I’m considering an advance and ingest a few questions:
Assault and battery Types: Terminate you comparison lithium-ion, NiCd, and lead-battery-acid batteries in footing of efficiency and
situation wallop? Which is topper for e-motorcycle seniority?
Charging Tips: What are the distinguish do’s and don’ts
for charging to unfold barrage fire life history?
Content vs. Range: How does barrage fire capacity regard
the e-bike’s range, and is on that point an apotheosis typewrite for longer distances?
Cost-Carrying out Balance: Which bombardment type offers the C.
H. Best measure for carrying into action without break the rely?
Ulterior Trends: Are at that place whatever forthcoming electric battery technologies we should feel forbidden for?
Your insights would greatly serve in devising an informed conclusion. Thanks!
