In the upcoming year, 50 electric buses will be deployed, according to LeafyBus’ announcement. With plans to eventually expand into Eastern and Southern India, the new fleet is expected to operate on a number of routes throughout Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab.
In order to enable this growth, JBM Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd. and LeafyBus have partnered. As per this deal, JBM will sell LeafyBus 200 electric buses in total. The first phase will see 50 buses introduced in the first year, and the remaining 150 buses in the following year. According to reports, these vehicles were created to meet India’s growing need for better transit choices.
It is reported that LeafyBus’s new electric buses have a number of features designed to improve passenger comfort and safety. These consist of CCTV monitoring, real-time tracking, and having a “Bus buddy” on board to help patrons.
According to the firm, all buses will have Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) in accordance with safety regulations. In order to guarantee passenger comfort, LeafyBus further states that strict interior cleanliness requirements would be adhered to.
LeafyBus claims to address the entire consumer journey by offering what they describe as a hassle-free travel experience for all customer segments. The new buses are said to feature high-speed chargers, inspired by international best practices, and larger battery sizes for long-range travel. The company states that maintenance support will be available across North India.
