Kia has unveiled the hatchback and sedan versions of the EV4. Key EV4 characteristics will be revealed by the Korean automaker on February 27 at Kia EV Day. The Kia EV4 will compete with the Hyundai Kona electric and Volkswagen ID 3 in foreign markets when it launches. Next week, Kia will also introduce the PV5 electric vehicle and the EV2 prototype.
The shape of the recently unveiled EV4 hatchback is reminiscent of the Kia EV6. It has a sharp-looking face, vertically stacked LED headlamps, and thick black side and sunroof cladding. The biggest changes are found in the rear, where a large black spoiler and new taillights are installed.
The commercial version’s design is very similar to the EV4 concept that was initially shown in 2023. For example, the sloping roofline and steeply pointed nose are still there. Its pronounced shoulder lines appear familiar as well. New 19-inch alloy wheels, chunkier wing mirrors, flush-type door handles, and a radar-equipped grille are the exterior alterations. It might extend the tape past the 4,365mm of the Kia Seltos.
Additionally, there is a Kia EV4 GT-Line version with wing-shaped front and rear bumpers and 19-inch wheels with a triangular design for a sportier appearance.
Although the next electric vehicle’s specifications are still pending, we know that it will be supported by the same E-GMP architecture as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV9, and EV6. However, since the EV4 is expected to use the EV3’s batteries, it may launch with 58.3kWh and 81.4kWh battery options that allow front- or all-wheel drive (AWD).
Kia India registered trademarks for eight new electric cars in 2023; the EV6 and EV9 are now available for purchase in this country. Aside from the EV3 and EV5 that are presently offered for sale abroad, these also featured the Kia EV4. The EV4 will be positioned beneath the EV6 SUV if it is introduced in the nation, though Kia has not commented on its launch.
