Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Manage all international and domestic shipment requests for GKN AUB including best mode of transport, timing and cost considerations
- Responsible for understanding and complying to all international and domestic shipping requirements, regulations and documentation per country
- Create and provide customs information on all international shipments and monitor through for customs clearance
- Partner with GKN Freight Services to arrange all international shipments and specialty AUB expedites
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to all customer controlled requirements
- Trained and responsible for accessing and adhering to all applicable external customer portals (examples: DHL – Ford, MSE – Toyota)
- Directly manage all on line shipping systems as necessary. (FedEx, UPS, various freight companies)
- Manage the reconciliation of all DNA accounts payable receipts for tangible product and services utilizing the MFGPro system for AUB
- Generate effective communications, maintain good relations and a positive image of GKN with all parties involved (includes external and internal vendors/customers)
- Partner with both finance and purchasing to comply with all GKN standards and processes concerning receiving and shipments.
- Ensure parts are packaged according to industry and GKN standards
- Control disposition of incoming products from external suppliers for lab services
- Responsible for incoming product, authorize/accept the delivery and contact receiver and other relevant personnel.
- Control and maintain all records for shipping and receiving details including populating spreadsheet(s), filing of records and providing required information to relevant personnel within the organization
- Assist in the delivery of product in a timely manner to necessary locations within the AUB facility
- Supervise and assist in the retrieval of product (if necessary) from requestors within building for shipment
- Manage inventory of all packaging supplies for both customer and GKN specific requirements
- Identify opportunities for improvement with current operating practice, and suggesting ways to improve performance.
- Advocate a culture of continuous improvement
- Work with leader to create/improve business processes and to maintain QMS procedures and work instructions
- Maintain an organized general shipping and receiving work area.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 5+ years logistics experience required (International and Domestic)
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be able to work and travel independently
Previous experience required:
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Strong computer application and software skills
- Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks
- Good decision making ability
- Knowledge of common hand tools
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Possess average vision and manual dexterity
- Forklift experience and valid license.
