As a Data Management Engineer, your responsibilities include performing Check-In and Check-Out of drawing files for Global GPS product programs, validate sample drawing packages from new OEMs and provide feedback / trainings to meet GM standards and overall project management of Data Management team consists of 6 to 8 non-GM engineers. You will be based in GM Technical Center India, Bangalore and will have to work with multiple stake holders from all regional GPS ME, GPS plant ME team and OEMs.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand Drawing requests requirements from Data Management SharePoint site and update the status as per the progress of requests
- Verify attributes of drawing (Dwg) files, validate title block, change row block, Bill of Material (BOM) stock list using CETC Toolkit and provide feedback report to OEMs for the issues
- Review and Interpret Master Structure Sheet (MSS) & update the program status in Documentation Progress Report (DPR)
- Upload the Dwg files and perform classification into Teamcenter (TcAE) using CETC Toolkit
- Perform Checkout by downloading Dwg files from TcAE and share with requestor through P2P
- Assign W numbers to new / retool programs and share with respective plant ME lead
- Provide Global Drawing Specification training to the new/existing OEMs for new/ retool program launches
- Review Technical Manuals and provide feedback to OEM to update the document as per GM standards
- Achieve process excellence metrics like 100% First Time Quality, 100% On time delivery through standardized work for self and team
- Seek & evaluate stake holder feedback and drive changes as appropriate
- Drive continuous process improvement within the team
- Capture and share lessons learned with team and global counterparts

- Sound knowledge in AutoCAD, Teamcenter, CETC validation tool kit and P2P
- Sound Knowledge in Global Drawing Specification Document
- Good knowledge of MS Office and Adobe PDF applications

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Automobile Engineering
