Jindal Mobilitric, a subsidiary of Jindal Worldwide, a large textile manufacturer, is preparing a major entrance into the automotive industry. By December, the business hopes to have three electric two-wheelers on the market.
It is worth noting that Jindal Mobilitric was established in 2022 as a diversification plan for Jindal Worldwide by acquiring Mumbai-based EV start-up Earth Energy EV.
The start-up was Founded by Rushii Senghani (Present – CTO, Jindal Mobilitric) and first came out in the news way back in 2021, when it unveiled its electric two-wheeler offerings – Glyde e-scooter and Evolve R and Evolve S e-motorcycles – in a virtual event. In December of the same year, the company invited select media to test ride its e-scooter – Gylde SX and Glyde SX+ in Mumbai.
The EVs at that time were claimed to have been tested for over 7.5 lakh kilometres.
After the acquisition, Jindal Mobilitric had announced plans had announced an ambitious plan to launch the EVs by end-FY2023. In addition, the company would also set-up a new manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad to supplement the existing Earth Energy EVs facility in Maharashtra.
The company has not revealed the exact details of the products or the exact launch schedule. It is expected that the Glyde e-scooters will be the first of the products to roll out this year.
