JBM Auto has provided 100% electric buses, in celebration of International Reducing CO2 Emissions Day. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, flagged off the first batch of 5 JBM ECOLIFE electric buses at Panipat Bus Depot, marking a significant step in promoting sustainable and eco-friendly public transportation in the state. The event witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, government officials, and industry leaders.
JBM Auto will deliver 375 electric buses to Haryana as part of the National Electric Bus Programme. To ensure the proper running of these buses, JBM Auto has built an end-to-end electric bus ecosystem at the depot, complete with power and charging infrastructure. JBM Auto has launched one of Haryana’s largest electric bus production factories, capable of producing 20,000 electric buses per year.
The newly launched JBM ECOLIFE electric buses, also known as Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV), are outfitted with fast-charging lithium-ion batteries and include modern features such as a Real-Time Passenger Information System (PIS), Panic Buttons for emergencies, Automatic Bus Vehicle Location System, CCTV cameras, public address systems, and stop request buttons.
Over the course of ten years, the usage of these electric buses is estimated to save around 1,000 equivalent tons of CO2 and 420,000 gallons of fuel. The Haryana Transport Department, through its subsidiary “Haryana City Bus Services Ltd.,” will manage and run the City Bus Service in many cities, including Panchkula, Ambala, Sonepat, Rewari, Yamuna Nagar, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, and Hisar. CESL (Convergence Energy Services Limited) made an order for 375 electric AC buses under the National Electric Bus Programme via a global tender.
This program is consistent with Haryana’s commitment to green and sustainable public transportation options, helping to worldwide efforts to tackle climate change. JBM Auto reiterates its commitment to supporting the state’s aim of providing environmentally friendly mobility alternatives.
