Hyundai Motor India confirmed that the Creta EV will cost Rs 17.99 lakh and that it would establish a 600-station nationwide fast charging network.
There are two battery options for this electric SUV: a 42kWh battery with a range of 390km and a 51.4kWh battery with a range of 473km. It undercuts its primary rival, the Tata Nexon EV Max, with a starting price of Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Creta EV retains the familiar design of its combustion engine counterpart but incorporates EV-specific features like a closed-off grille and aerodynamic wheels.
Inside, you’ll find a dual 10.25-inch screen setup for the infotainment system and instrument cluster. Hyundai claims a 0-100kmph time of 7.9 seconds for the long-range variant. Fast charging capabilities allow for a 10-80% charge in under an hour using a 50kW DC charger.
According to Hyundai, 50 rapid charging stations have already been installed around major cities and national roads, and the company plans to build a network of stations over the course of seven years.
Additionally, customers can find and utilize more than 10,000 EV charging stations nationwide with the help of the company’s myHyundai app.
The Hyundai Creta EV was the event’s highlight. In its conventional form, the Creta has emerged as India’s most popular SUV.
Locally made battery packs from Hyundai’s battery assembly facility in Chennai will power the EV version of the Creta.
