Hyundai Motor India plans to launch its Creta EV, the electric version of the country’s top-selling midsize SUV, at the forthcoming Bharat Mobility Show 2025 in New Delhi. With a few EV-specific features like a closed-off “grille,” revised front and rear bumpers, and alloy wheels that are optimized for aerodynamics, the electric SUV will look a lot like the facelifted Creta that was introduced in January 2024.
In contrast to some of its competitors, Hyundai has taken it easy with the Creta EV, particularly when it comes to styling, sharing the majority of the Creta with the regular Creta. A new closed grille, new bumper designs, alloy wheels with a different appearance, and emblems exclusive to EVs are just a few of the cosmetic changes it will receive.
The latest-generation Hyundai Kona EV’s three-spoke steering wheel, a drive selector controller positioned close to the steering wheel column, a redesigned center console with two cup holders, and buttons for the electronic parking brake, cooled seats, auto-hold, and 360-degree camera will be the interior distinguishing features. Furthermore, some of the center panel’s HVAC controls and other components will be taken from the facelifted Hyundai Alcazar.
However, the Creta EV will still include a twin-screen infotainment and instrument cluster in addition to a number of physical controls for convenient access. An upgraded software interface and additional functionality could be added to the infotainment system.
Hyundai Motor India intends to manufacture about 24,000 of the electric SUV annually. When Hyundai’s Creta EV goes on sale next month, expect competitive pricing.
