Honda Motor has revealed the technology for its upcoming electric cars, which will go on sale globally in 2026. These innovations will be offered in the company’s new “Zero series” of EVs. According to the Japanese company, its goals are to use the newest technologies, decrease vehicle weight, and increase production efficiency.
By reducing the weight of the vehicle, it seeks to reach a range of 480 kilometers or more on a single charge. There will also be more room for thinner battery cases. A more straightforward body structure and smaller primary components will reduce the weight by roughly 100 kg.
The battery case manufacturing process will be more efficient and cost-effective with fewer parts thanks to the application of megacasting technology.
According to Honda, the upcoming electric vehicles will come with an AI-powered self-driving system that can assess the driver’s health and determine when it’s time for a break.
Mibe Toshihiro, President of Honda, reaffirmed his dedication to future planning. “With our scale, we can’t survive unless we create new global value,” Mibe stated. “We hope to expand our Zero series, and I’m certain that the direction we’re taking for the series is correct.”
Beginning in 2026, Honda intends to launch the new Zero EV series in North America, Asia, and Europe. By 2030, it hopes to have seven models in its lineup that are sold all over the world.
