Planning to make its debut in Indian drone market this year, Greenjets has revealed its intention to establish its Indian operations in the state of Telangana.
Towards this end, it has already signed a MoU with the National Centre of Additive Manufacturing, Hyderabad to be incubated in 2023 with plans to grow its R&D and manufacturing footprint significantly in 2024.
Greenjets also plans to soon launch a technical collaboration with a Hyderabad-based motor manufacturer under the recently launched ‘India – UK Collaborative R&D for industrial sustainability’ funding opportunity.
CEO, Anmol Manohar, recently met with Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (Shri KTR Ji), who is the Minister for IT, Industries and Municipal Administration for the Government of Telangana, India to discuss collaborations.
The minister shared his ambitious vision to make the State of Telangana net-zero by 2047 and was keen for Greenjets to be part of making this transition possible. The minister offered government support, investment options and connections to the local aerospace ecosystem as Greenjets plans to expand into India. The minister also shared his plans to set up an aeronautical university in India and was keen for Greenjets to play a key role as an industrial partner.
He also heard from Greenjets CTO, Guido Monterzino, Chief Engineer, Mike Sheath and Head of Airframes, Darren James on the challenges of decarbonization of aviation and left the team with an inspiring message of ‘what’s the point if your dream isn’t impossible; you can do this.’
