The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has approved the registration of Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), the electric mobility division of Greaves Cotton Limited’s two-wheeler models (Nexus, Primus, Magnus, and Zeal) under the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS). With this clearance, the business is now qualified for the EV demand incentive program offered by the Indian government, which encourages the use of electric vehicles.
Through its subsidiary, GEMPL’s three-wheeler division has already benefited from demand incentives offered under the EMPS Scheme. The company’s recent introduction of two-wheeler models puts it in a strong position to further contribute to affordable and environmentally friendly mobility options in India.
K. Vijaya Kumar, Executive Director & CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility, said, “Resuming our place in the EMPS scheme reinforces our commitment to providing innovative and sustainable mobility solutions to our consumers as we continue to lead in India’s EV journey.”
