Following two years of hosting the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the government will confer with industry organizations like the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India and the Society of Automobile Manufacturers to determine whether to hold the massive event every year or every two years.
Up until 2024, the SIAM and ACMA, respectively, organized the vehicle and component expos as two distinct events that took place every two years. In 2024, however, both exhibits were combined under the Bharat Mobility name, with associations controlling their expos and associated activities as a Bharat Mobility sub-brand.
“Although we would want to hold it once a year, we are open to recommendations and conversations from all parties involved. At the end of the second edition of the Bharat Mobility Expo,” Rajesh Agrawal, additional secretary at the Department of Commerce, told the media, “Because we would like to create a value proposition for everybody.”
The Ministry of Commerce came up with the concept for the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in order to present India as a mobility center by bringing the whole mobility ecosystem together in a single expo. The expo was attended by major OEMs, component manufacturers, and businesses from related industries like steel, tires, batteries, and charging.
Following the success of the inaugural Bharat Mobility event last year, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal announced that it will now take place annually. Speaking to the media on the last day of the second edition of Bharat Mobility, the secretary stated that the government will confer with associations about making it an annual event, but she did not clarify if the event would take place the following year.
