In celebration of its first anniversary, FlixBus India, in collaboration with ETO Motors, launched an electric bus service between Hyderabad and Vijayawada. At ITC Kakatiya in Hyderabad, Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar formally inaugurated the service in the presence of FlixBus India Managing Director Surya Khurana and German Embassy Counsellor Alexander Reck.
Starting in the final week of February, the business will operate four electric buses on this route. Before the launch, there will be a two-week test run, and then a 12-week review period to gauge battery performance and booking trends.
At depots, Thunder Plus will install 240 KW fast chargers as part of its charging infrastructure. For the protection of the passengers, dashcams, GPS, and ADAS will be installed on the buses.
With lines including Bangalore-Hyderabad, Chennai-Madurai, and Delhi-Lucknow, the business has built more than 400 connections in South India and 500 in the North. Over the past year, monthly ridership has climbed sixfold.
FlixBus provides technological tools for revenue management and network planning to small and medium bus companies. The company wants to grow its network throughout India while continuing to prioritise passenger safety and service quality.
With operations in over 40 nations on four continents, the main company, Flix, aims to become carbon neutral in Europe by 2040 and worldwide by 2050.
