Fisker has announced to make its debut in the Indian market with its all-electric Ocean Extreme Vigyan Edition SUVs.
The American start-up firm, headed by Danish engineer and entrepreneur Henrik Fisker, announced that it will produce 100 Fisker Ocean Extreme Vigyan Edition SUVs specifically for the Indian market.
Fisker expects to complete the homologation process for India by September and plans to commence deliveries in Q4 2023.
In a statement, the EV maker said the pricing of the Fisker Extreme Vigyan Edition, which is named after the company’s India subsidiary, “will align with European pricing”.
“India offers exciting opportunities for us,” chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker said. “Following the successful start of deliveries in Europe and the US, we’re thrilled that we can bring the Fisker Ocean Extreme, with its class-leading range and unique features, to a new market where we plan to grow our brand rapidly over the coming years.”
Fisker established an office in Hyderabad in 2022. The company expects to homologate the Fisker Ocean Extreme Vigyan Edition, named after the company’s India subsidiary, by September this year.
Deliveries to the world’s third-largest automotive market will commence in Q4 2023. Pricing will align with Europe — where the Fisker Ocean Extreme is priced at 69,950 euros (Rs 61.47 lakh) for the German market – plus import taxes and logistics for India.
The Fisker Ocean Extreme has an EPA range of 360 miles / 576km on standard 20-inch wheels and tires, which is the longest range of any new electric SUV in its class In Europe, the Fisker Ocean Extreme has a WLTP range of 707km/440 UK miles on standard 20-inch wheels and tyres, which is the longest range of any electric SUV sold in Europe.
