According to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, the cost of electric vehicles will be the same across the country in six months.
Gadkari stated that the construction of the 212-kilometer Delhi-Dehradun access-controlled motorway will be completed in the next three months as he was addressing at the 32nd Convergence India and 10th Smart Cities India Expo.
He stated, “Within six months, the cost of electric vehicles will be equivalent to the cost of petrol vehicles.” The minister claims that cost-effective, pollution-free, and import substitution are the government’s goals.
He went on to say that if India wants to become the third-largest economy in the world, it needs to improve its infrastructure.
Gadkari said, “By making good roads, we can reduce our logistics cost.”
Gadkari asserts that the government is committed to developing smart transportation and smart cities, and that the economy of the nation has a promising future.
“We are working on mass rapid transport on electricity,” he stated.
Gadkari underlined that innovation and new technology must be encouraged in order to reduce the cost of constructing new roads.
