Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), in partnership with the Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA) is set to introduce 300 cargo electric bicycles in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh. This initiative is a part of the Sustainable Transport for Rural Entrepreneurs (STREE) program, aims to enhance micro-mobility and support local entrepreneurship in the region.
A signing ceremony was organized to formalize the partnership. Dr. Srikanth Kancharla, MLC, Kuppam attended the ceremony. The deployment of these e-bicycles will empower self-help group (SHG) women, female students, and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), providing them with a sustainable and efficient mode of transportation.
The STREE program is designed to promote eco-friendly transport options. It works for enhancing economic opportunities for rural communities. By facilitating easier movement and access to resources, this initiative supports both environmental sustainability and the development of local businesses.
