The Chinese EV manufacturer BYD has finally launched its brand-new, high-end electric SUV, the Sealion 7, in India, expanding its product line. As implied by its name, the Sealion 7 shares some design elements with the BYD Seal sedan, although it has a different cabin arrangement. The Sealion 7 is available from BYD in two main trim levels: Performance and Premium. The range of prices is between Rs 48.90 lakh and Rs 54.90 lakh.
Due to its LED headlights and DRLs, the Sealion 7 has a sleek, aerodynamic appearance, and its fascia is reminiscent of the BYD Seal sedan. The aggressively styled bumper and the bonnet’s sharp lines and creases add to the vehicle’s sporting appeal. It has 20-inch alloy wheels and flush-type door handles in profile (19-inch on the Premium edition). The attached LED tail lights at the back draw attention to additional BYD Seal influences.
The interior of the Seal has a black theme, and the dashboard’s gloss black panel and 4-spoke steering wheel give it a luxurious appearance. Black leatherette is used to cover the armrest, steering wheel, and seats.
The Sealion 7 has a panoramic glass roof, electric sunshades, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment touchscreen, ventilated front seats, and multicoloured ambient lighting. An 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with a 4-way adjustable lumbar support and memory function, a 6-way electrically adjustable co-driver’s seat, a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, a motorised tailboard and vehicle-to-load (V2L) features are also included.
Eleven airbags, a 360-degree camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, rain-sensing wipers, an electronic parking brake with auto hold and level-2 ADAS all contribute to passenger safety.
