For its High Voltage Coolant Heater (HVCH), BorgWarner Inc. reported three noteworthy commercial victories in China, Korea, and Japan. With manufacturing for the corresponding projects scheduled to start between 2025 and 2028, these recent agreements represent a significant milestone in BorgWarner’s strategic expansion throughout Asia.
For a fully electric SUV vehicle, a well-known domestic automaker in China has selected BorgWarner’s HVCH. The second quarter of 2025 is when production of this car is expected to start. This collaboration highlights the growing need in the Chinese EV market for effective, high-performance thermal management technologies.
Additionally, a top Korean electric vehicle manufacturer plans to include BorgWarner’s HVCH into a new electric pickup truck, with manufacturing beginning in March 2025. The overall driving experience of the car will be improved by this heater’s crucial contribution to energy savings and cabin temperature optimization.
The third significant victory comes from Japan, where BorgWarner has landed its first HVCH contract for a future battery-electric car with a Japanese OEM. This deal is especially noteworthy because it marks BorgWarner’s first entry into the quickly growing EV sector in Japan. The Japanese project is anticipated to start production in 2028. The market’s unique requirements will be satisfied by the small and economical HVCH design, which provides dependable heating and effective thermal control at a lower cost.
