Supporting the adoption of e-mobility, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has declared that 10 new electric vehicle charging stations will be installed in Mumbai.
According to the civic body, 5 stations will be located in the west suburbs while 4 will be in Mumbai’s Island city. 1 station will be located in the eastern suburbs.
BMC announced that it will jointly set up charging stations with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, (HPCL). HPCL will have the opportunity to set up charging stations in BMC’s public parking lots. For the first few years, there will be no rent charged by the BMC.
The BMC will pay a fee of 1 rupee per unit for electricity to HPCL. HPCL will also charge reasonable rates to charge electric vehicles at stations.
Parel, Jacob Circle, Byculla, and Goregaon are just a few of the locations.
