Ather Energy, an electric vehicle manufacturer, announced its decision to enter its second international market, Sri Lanka.
The company, in partnership with Evolution Auto, a joint venture between Sensei Capital Partners, Atman Group, and Sino Lanka is set to launch its first experience centre in Sri Lanka in the upcoming quarter. Ather made its international debut in Nepal in November 2023.
Evolution Auto, Ather’s national distributor in Sri Lanka, will oversee the sales and service operations for Ather Energy. Additionally, Ather plans to establish a network of fast-charging infrastructure throughout the country to facilitate the adoption of electric vehicles and provide a smooth experience for customers.
Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy, expressed excitement about entering the Sri Lankan market, stating, “Sri Lanka has been a part of our global expansion strategy following Nepal, where we established our presence last year. With the rising costs of owning petrol vehicles and the economic and environmental benefits of electric vehicles, the Sri Lankan market is increasingly leaning towards EVs.”
