Within weeks of our reporting that Ather Energy had started manufacturing, the company is delivering its Rizta family scooter.
As of now, the Ather Rizta is being delivered throughout Andhra Pradesh as well as Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Jaipur, and Nagpur. According to Ather, delivery from the remaining dealers in its network will happen shortly.
Ather’s sporty and technologically advanced 450 models helped it succeed in the Indian market. The Rizta has been redesigned to be more widely appealing, but it still has the same primary chassis, battery pack, motor, displays, and switchgear as the 450s.
The Rizta is an important product for Ather Energy as it has lost its long-held third position in the market due to a drop in monthly EV sales.
With this practical and more affordable e-scooter, Ather Energy will aim to recoup that spot from the Bajaj Chetak. Bajaj also recently expanded the Chetak line-up with a sub-Rs 1 lakh variant.
