The Ather 450 Apex is a new e-scooter that the Bengaluru-based business has been promoting for quite some time. We know that this will be the fastest Ather e-scooter yet, with a new Warp+ mode that will be faster than the 450X’s already swift Warp mode. The 450 Apex is now available for pre-order, and we can now confirm that an official launch will take place on January 6 at 12 noon.
The 450 Apex, designed to commemorate Ather Energy’s tenth anniversary, seems outwardly identical to the 450S and 450X currently in the company’s lineup, with the only major difference being the rear bodywork. There appears to be something special going on in this region, and we may see transparent body panels again, as seen on the Series 1 Collector’s Edition e-scooter back in 2020. This appears to be supported by the company’s teaser, which features the phrase “the only scooter that dares to bare.”
The teasers also show it having the same 7-inch TFT touchscreen as the 450X, so anticipate most of the functionality to be carried over. Bluetooth connectivity, on-board navigation, hill-hold, and controls for phone calls and music playing are all included. Interestingly, another teaser video states that the 450 Apex “eliminates the need for braking in most situations,” implying that the scooter would have higher levels of regen, comparable to certain electric automobiles’ single-pedal operation.
The Ather 450X is presently priced at Rs 1.45 lakh when coupled with a 3.7kWh battery pack. This increases to Rs 1.68 lakh if you choose the Pro Pack, which includes many of the fancy connected features. Expect the Apex to be more expensive than the X. According to Ather, deliveries will begin in March of this year.
The business has recently released OTA upgrades for its 450X, one of which is that the scooter now includes two-wheeler-specific map routes for the on-board navigation system. Ather claims that this is the world’s first scooter to provide two-wheeler-specific navigation routes.
