Ashok Leyland has established a new integrated commercial vehicle facility in Uttar Pradesh focusing on green mobility.
The Greenfield complex will span 70 acres and include cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. According to the CV manufacturer, this will be Ashok Leyland’s most modern and green facility in the world, with a major focus on the manufacturing of electric buses, as well as the potential to construct other vehicles powered by present and upcoming alternative fuels.
The ground-breaking event was place at the new manufacturing site on Kanpur Road in Lucknow, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiling the Foundation Plaque and laying the foundation stone. Suresh Khanna, Minister of Finance and Parliamentary Affairs, and Nand Gopal Gupta, Minister for Industrial Development, Export Promotion, NRI, and Investment Promotion, attended the ceremony, as did senior members of the Hinduja family, Ashok Leyland’s dealers, customers, and suppliers, as well as a number of other dignitaries.

Once operational, the plant will initially have the capacity to produce 2,500 vehicles per year, with plans to expand this to 5,000 vehicles annually over the next decade. This facility will be Ashok Leyland’s seventh vehicle plant in the country.
