Some cities in India have seen a 2.5 times jump in EV charging stations in just four months, which is a positive sign. Semiconductors are used in various applications, including power electronics, battery management, motor control, and sensors, among others. In recent years, the demand for semiconductors in the EV industry has increased significantly, driven by the growth of the electric vehicle market globally.
India is making significant efforts to become a semiconductor powerhouse, and the Indian government has been taking steps to promote semiconductor manufacturing in the country. According to a report by Deloitte, the Indian semiconductor market is expected to reach $55 billion by 2025, driven by factors such as the growth of the electronics industry, the increasing adoption of IoT devices, and the government’s push for domestic manufacturing.
The Indian EV market is also growing rapidly, with estimates suggesting that it could be valued at $2 billion by 2023 and $7.09 billion by 2025. The Indian government has set an ambitious target of achieving 30% electric vehicle penetration by 2030. The shift towards EVs will require significant investments in infrastructure, technology, and manufacturing, and the government has announced plans to invest $300 billion in the sector over the next decade.
