The 21st EV Expo 2024 commenced in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan. The three-day gathering, which includes the 8th Catalyst Conference, convenes entrepreneurs, business executives, and policymakers to discuss the direction of sustainable transportation.
The Hon’ble Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, opened the event by speaking to the audience via video link from Nagpur. He underlined India’s pledge to cut pollution, become carbon neutral by 2070, and lessen reliance on imports of fossil fuels (₹22 lakh crore yearly).

- With 30 lakh EVs sold and a 6.4% market penetration rate, India saw a 45% increase in EV sales in 2023–2024. With the help of more than 400 startups in the industry, electric two-wheelers accounted for more than 56% of sales.
- Five crore employment might be created by the Indian EV market, which is expected to reach ₹20 lakh crore by 2030. By 2028, EV and hybrid penetration is predicted to reach 8%, and the EV finance industry is projected to reach ₹4 lakh crore.
- India’s 6 million tonnes of lithium reserves in Jammu & Kashmir may power 60 crore electric vehicles, making the country a major player in the world market for lithium use.
200 exhibitors’ innovations, including cutting-edge technologies and industry partnerships, are on display at the EV Expo. It gives entrepreneurs, startups, and business executives a place to connect and influence the direction of electric vehicles.
