PMI Electro Mobility has delivered 20 electric buses to Goa’s Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL).
PMI is now the only electric bus maker in the country with a presence in 26 locations thanks to its entry into Goa, the firm said.
According to Satish Jain, Chairman of PMI Electro Mobility, “Through its electric buses, PMI will help facilitate the switch to green mobility, which is one of the priorities for Goa, and contribute to making Goa’s public transportation system cleaner.”
According to him, these electric buses will aid the state in its effort to achieve clean mobility by preventing more than 13,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions over the course of ten years.
“PMI will operate and manage these buses with technologically advanced electric bus depots for effective bus operation and to deliver dependable services to the people of Goa. In order to guarantee zero downtime, these electric bus depots will also assist with routine maintenance of the buses,” said Jain.
The public sector transport operator will get these vehicles as part of a bigger order of 48 electric buses before July, according to a statement from PMI Electro Mobility.
According to the firm, Goa’s adoption of electric buses is a big step towards the state’s electrification of public transportation.
